“At sixty, the body needs noticeably more protein per meal than it did at forty — and most Indian adults aren’t eating anywhere near that. It isn’t ageing. It’s a gap in the plate, and it can be closed.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I actually need a protein supplement?

+

For most Indians over 50, the diet alone isn’t enough, and this isn’t a personal failing. Our traditional meals are rich in carbohydrates and relatively low in protein. After 50, the body also needs more protein per meal to trigger the same muscle-building response it had at 40. Most people find that food alone, however nutritious, doesn’t bridge that gap. Fifty+ is not a replacement for good food. It’s the bridge.

I have a pre-existing condition — diabetes, blood pressure, thyroid. Is this safe for me?

+

Fifty+ products are formulated at doses our clinical team considers safe for most adults with common conditions. Our protein contains no added sugar — monk fruit provides natural sweetness with zero glycaemic index. That said, if you’re on specific medication, a quick check with your physician is always the right call. Our team is also available on WhatsApp to talk it through.

I’ve tried other protein powders before and they made me bloat. Why would this be different?

+

Bloating from protein supplements almost always comes from one of three things: lactose in whey concentrate, low-quality ingredients, or the absence of digestive support. Fifty+ uses whey isolate (much lower lactose), sources clean ingredients, and includes digestive enzymes in the formulation. We specifically designed this for a gut that may be more sensitive than it was at 30. Most people who switch to us after other brands report a significant difference within the first week.

How much protein do I actually need at my age?

+

The current clinical recommendation for adults over 50 is 1.2 to 1.6 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day — significantly higher than the older guidelines most people have seen. For a 65kg adult, that’s roughly 78–104g per day. One serving of Fifty+ Daily Protein delivers 35g. The rest comes from your meals. We can help you work out what the right daily total looks like for you.

What time of day should I take it?

+

Morning is ideal — within 30 minutes of waking, your body is in its highest state of readiness for protein synthesis. That said, consistency matters more than timing. If your routine makes post-lunch or evening work better, that is fine. Anchor it to something you already do every day. The habit is the goal.

How long before I notice a difference?

+

Most people notice improved energy and sleep quality within 2–4 weeks. Measurable improvements in strength and body composition — with consistent use and regular movement — typically show at 8–12 weeks. We are building a habit, not selling a quick fix. The science on this is clear and consistent.

Will this interact with my medication?

+

Protein and most vitamins at nutritional doses are generally safe alongside common medications. The specific cases to discuss with your doctor are anticoagulants (blood thinners), certain thyroid medications, and high-dose calcium with some cardiac drugs. If any of those apply to you, a quick check is worthwhile. We can also help navigate this on WhatsApp.

I’m not very active. Is this still right for me?

+

Yes. Protein supports muscle maintenance even without intense exercise — simply walking, doing household tasks, and going about daily life uses muscle. If you’re not currently active, Fifty+ can help preserve what you have while you build toward more movement. The two work together, but one doesn’t require the other to start.

Will my parent actually take this every day?

+

This is the question we hear most. Fifty+ is designed to remove every friction point — one step, not a regimen. No complicated timing windows. No large or multiple pills. The Kesar Pista flavour was developed specifically so that the morning routine feels like a treat, not a medical chore. Most people who try it are consistent within the first week. And once they feel the difference, consistency tends to take care of itself.

My parent is already on medication. Is this safe to add?

+

Fifty+ products are formulated at doses our clinical team considers safe for most adults managing common conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and thyroid disorders. If your parent is on anticoagulants or specific cardiac medications, we recommend a brief conversation with their physician. Our support team is available on WhatsApp to help you navigate this before you order.

How is this different from what’s already available at a pharmacy or on Amazon?

+

Most supplements on the shelf — including many on major e-commerce platforms — were formulated for a general adult population. They use standard dosages, standard ingredients, and standard marketing. None of them were built specifically for the 50+ Indian body. Fifty+ is the only brand in India with its formulations downstream of a running clinical practice. Every product reflects what we observe in real patients. That’s not a claim most brands can make.

My parent has diabetes. Is this safe?

+

Yes, with care. Fifty+ products contain no added sugar. Natural sweetness comes from real fruits and monk fruit, which has a zero glycaemic index and does not spike blood sugar. We also formulate with diabetic absorption profiles in mind. That said, if your parent’s diabetes is managed with insulin or specific medication, a conversation with their doctor before starting is always the responsible step.

Can I buy this as a gift? Is the packaging appropriate?

+

Yes — and the gifting bundle was built with exactly this use case in mind. The packaging is warm, considered, and doesn’t feel medical or clinical. It feels like a gift from someone who did the research. Free delivery is included on orders above ₹599.

What results should I realistically expect?

+

Most people notice improved energy and sleep quality within 2–4 weeks. Measurable improvements in strength and body composition typically show at 8–12 weeks with consistent use and regular movement. We don’t overpromise. Our clinical team has seen what sustained nutritional intervention does — and it is meaningful, visible, and lasting when done consistently.

Is there a doctor I can speak to before my parent starts?

+

Yes. Our clinical team at Praan Health is available for consultation. Our Koramangala clinic opens in Bangalore in July 2026. In the meantime, our nutrition team is available on WhatsApp and can help you assess which products are right for your parent’s specific health profile.
